Could Stila Be Making A Comeback? Let's Hope So...

Okay, nobody panic...Stila's fate is no longer the grim future I was imagining last week, though it is still far from secure. The company has been sold to Patriarch Partners, explaining the recent website shutdown and all-employee furlough. The Wall Street Journal reports that "Traditionally, beauty products have proved relatively resilient during difficult economic times as women sought small, affordable pick-me-ups. But this recession is proving more challenging for high-end beauty lines, particularly as drugstore offerings have improved in quality. Stila, which maintains a cult following with products such as brown sugar lip gloss and pale seafoam blue eyeshadow, joins other high-end niche beauty lines struggling to tempt cash-strapped shoppers." Good luck to Stila and all their hard-working employees. We're waiting for your comeback!

Project Victoria's Secret

'Project Runway' winner Christian Siriano is partnering with Victoria's Secret to design a new collection of makeup, called Christian Siriano for VS Makeup, marking his first foray into cosmetics. Scheduled to debut this Fall, it will be the first collection in the new Very Sexy overhaul, to be called VS Makeup.

WWD Reports:

"Lip products are priced at $10 (lip liner) to $14 (lipstick); eye items from $10 for eyeliner to $18 for an eye shadow quad; face products from $12 for concealer to $20 for foundation, and tools from $2.50 for a pencil sharpener to $18 for a bronzer brush.

By contrast, Siriano's limited edition lineup will be priced slightly higher than the VS main line. The collection includes five shades of eye shadow, each $14; black eyeliner, $12; three lip gloss shades, each $14; a bronzer-highlighter trio, $24; a face brush, $32, and a ruffled cosmetics bag, $16. Siriano’s items will be packaged in gold compacts with the Christian Siriano for VS Makeup logo engraved on top."

Do You Want to Look Like Lindsay Lohan?

Lindsay Lohan is coming out with her own line of self-tanners. Is anyone else as scared about this as I am? The notoriously orange-streaked starlet teamed up with tanning expert Lorit Simon to form her company, called Sevin Nyne. Why Sevin Nyne? It's misspelling of her favorite numbers (whatever).

The product's active ingredient is DHA, and the spray doesn't contain any chemicals. Other ingredients include caramel, Chardonnay extracts, gogi berry, and a sugar-coconut base. The color takes five hours to develop, and lasts for four to five days. Available April 15th on Sephora.com for $35. Will you try it?

Note: The company released a very cute (photo-shopped) picture of Lindsay to promote her line, but I think this photo better illustrates my point...Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Dolce & Gabbana Launch Make-Up Line

Scarlett Johansson is the face of Dolce & Gabbana's new make-up collection. Launching next month, the collection will range between $20 and $60, and include a full range of products. If this photo is any indication, the collection is going to be HOT! Known for their sexy yet classy apparel, I predict the Dolce and Gabbana design duo will wow us all with a twist on the classics.
